In-Home Prenatal & Postpartum Massage in San Francisco
Specialized therapeutic massage designed to support you through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and the transition into motherhood—all in the comfort of your own home.
Pregnancy and postpartum are extraordinary periods of change. As your body adapts, you may experience unfamiliar tension, shifting movement patterns, physical discomfort, and an entirely new relationship with your body.
During a time when so much attention is focused on caring for someone else, you deserve to be cared for, too.

Prenatal Massage
Support for your body as it makes room for new life.
Pregnancy brings remarkable changes to the body. As your center of gravity shifts, your posture adapts, and your body accommodates a growing baby, you may begin to experience new areas of tension and discomfort.
Prenatal massage offers an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with your body, and receive individualized care throughout these changes.
My approach combines specialized pre- and perinatal massage training with therapeutic techniques adapted to your stage of pregnancy. Each session begins with a conversation about how you're feeling, what your body is experiencing, and where you could use additional support.
Using supportive bolsters and comfortable positioning, I tailor each treatment to your needs, with attention to areas such as:
Hip, gluteal, and low-back tension
Neck, shoulder, and upper-back discomfort
Muscular fatigue and postural changes
General stress and difficulty relaxing
The need for rest and physical comfort
Whether you're in your first trimester or approaching your due date, my intention is to create a comfortable, supportive experience that honors your body's changing needs.
I use the Oakworks Side-Lying Positioning System, developed with input from leading prenatal massage educators, including Carole Osborne.
Unlike traditional face-down positioning, side-lying allows your abdomen, breasts, spine, and pelvis to be comfortably supported without placing direct pressure on your growing belly.
Specialized cushions help maintain alignment, reduce unnecessary strain, and allow for therapeutic work on common areas of pregnancy-related tension, including the lower back, hips, and shoulders.
The result is a thoughtfully adapted massage experience that prioritizes your comfort, safety, and changing needs throughout pregnancy.
Postpartum Massage
Because care shouldn't end when the baby arrives.
The postpartum period is a profound transition, physically, emotionally, and personally. While so much attention naturally turns toward caring for a newborn, the person who has just given birth is navigating an extraordinary period of recovery and adaptation.
Your body may be healing from childbirth while adjusting to feeding, carrying, lifting, interrupted sleep, and the repetitive movements of caring for your baby.
Postpartum massage creates space for your own care during a season when your needs can easily fall to the background.
Sessions are thoughtfully adapted to your recovery, comfort, and individual circumstances. Depending on your needs, we may focus on:
Neck and shoulder tension associated with feeding and holding your baby
Upper- and lower-back discomfort
Hip and pelvic-area muscular tension
General muscular fatigue and physical stress
Relaxation and restorative rest
Whether you've had a vaginal birth or cesarean delivery, your session is approached with care and consideration for your recovery. Positioning, pressure, and techniques are adjusted accordingly, and certain areas or techniques may need to be avoided until healing is appropriate.
And because I come to your home, there's no need to arrange another outing or navigate the city afterward.
My hope is to offer a small moment of care for the person who is giving so much of herself to someone else.

Your well-being is always my first priority. While prenatal massage is generally considered safe during uncomplicated pregnancies, every pregnancy is unique, and certain medical conditions may require modifications, clearance from your healthcare provider, or postponement of your session.
Please let me know before booking if you are experiencing or have been diagnosed with:
A high-risk pregnancy or pregnancy-related complications
Preeclampsia, gestational hypertension, or concerns about blood pressure
A history of blood clots or current concerns about circulation
Placental complications or unexplained vaginal bleeding
Significant swelling, particularly if sudden or affecting one leg
Recent surgery, birth complications, or concerns related to postpartum recovery
Some symptoms require medical evaluation rather than massage. If you experience vaginal bleeding, severe headache, vision changes, chest pain, difficulty breathing, sudden swelling, or new pain and swelling in one leg, please seek prompt medical care.
Before each session, we'll review your health history, current symptoms, and any relevant considerations to determine whether massage is appropriate and how best to adapt your treatment.
Massage is intended to complement your prenatal and postpartum healthcare, not replace medical evaluation or treatment.
Frequently Asked Questions

Prenatal massage is generally considered safe during an uncomplicated pregnancy when provided by a therapist trained in pregnancy massage. Every pregnancy is different, and sessions are adapted to your stage of pregnancy, comfort, and individual health considerations. If you're experiencing complications or have a high-risk pregnancy, I may recommend consulting your prenatal healthcare provider before scheduling.
-
Prenatal massage can often be enjoyed throughout pregnancy, including the first trimester, provided there are no medical contraindications. Each session is adapted to your stage of pregnancy and how you're feeling that day.
-
Your comfort and safety are always priorities. I use supportive pillows and bolsters to accommodate your changing body, with side-lying positioning commonly used as pregnancy progresses. We can adjust your position throughout the session to ensure you feel comfortable and supported.
-
Prenatal massage may help ease everyday muscular tension, particularly through the hips, low back, neck, and shoulders. Many clients also find it helpful for relaxation, stress reduction, and creating a moment of rest during pregnancy.
Massage is intended to complement—not replace—your prenatal medical care.

The appropriate timing depends on your delivery, recovery, and individual health circumstances. Some people may feel comfortable receiving gentle massage relatively soon after an uncomplicated birth, while others may need more time, particularly following a cesarean delivery or complications.
Sessions are adapted to your recovery, and I may recommend clearance from your healthcare provider when appropriate.
-
Yes, postpartum massage may be appropriate after a cesarean delivery, with modifications based on your stage of healing. We can focus on areas such as the neck, shoulders, upper back, and other comfortable regions while avoiding the incision and healing tissues.
Direct abdominal or scar work requires adequate healing and may require clearance from your healthcare provider.
-
Very little! I bring the massage table, fresh linens, supportive bolsters, and everything needed for your session.
